Our teachers and staff take pride in their commitment to making our program unique and dynamic. Our current teaching staff is trained in early childhood education as well as child development and have the appropriate credentials for working with young children. We are always looking to grow and expand our staff to ensure our students are receiving quality care and an excellent education.

Assistant Director

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an Assistant Director to assist our Executive Director in planning and implementing a developmentally age appropriate curriculum. We are a play based preschool that strives toward a child-centered curriculum. Our teachers put play at the heart of our curriculum and help to support the children in this with proper time, materials, and thoughtful teaching.

Candidate will be energetic, displaying a professional demeanor at all times, self-starter, well versed in early childhood development teaching techniques and must have the ability to lead and assist in classroom management.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations and licensing requirements

  • Monitors, inspects and procures safety equipment and trains staff as needed

  • Ensures adequate staff are CPR and First Aid certified

  • Plans, directs, and monitors instructional methods and content of programs

  • Evaluates and develops program curriculum and modifies as appropriate

  • Responsible for identifying purchasing needs

  • Conducts routine staff meetings and coordinates parent meetings

  • Directs activities of teachers, teachers' assistants, administration staff and volunteers

Requirements:

  • B.A. in Child Development preferred

  • Minimum 12 core units of Child Development (courses: Child Development, Child Family Community, Principles and Curriculum) - 24 units are preferred

  • 6 units of Supervision/Administration in Child Development

  • 2 units of Adult Supervision

  • 1-5 years experience supervising preferred

  • LiveScanCPR certifiedTB tested 

Pluses:

  • Bilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog, Russian, or any other language

  • Ability to sing, dance or play an instrument

  • Artistic - ability to teach drawing, painting, sculpting, etc.

  • Athletic - ability to play and teach one or more sports

Lead Teacher/Teacher

Position Overview:

The Seabird Preschool program has been created to address the individual, social, emotional, and educational needs of the child. We are a play based preschool that strives toward a child-centered curriculum. Our teachers put play at the heart of our curriculum and help to support the children in this with proper time, materials, and thoughtful teaching.

We are currently seeking Lead Teachers to fill full-time positions working primarily with our 2.5 - 5.5 year-old students. He/She will work closely with the other teachers and Director to plan and implement a developmentally age appropriate curriculum. 

Candidate will be energetic, displaying a professional demeanor at all times, self-starter, well versed in early childhood development teaching techniques and must have the ability to lead and assist in classroom management. 

Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with children ages 2.5 - 5.5 years

  • Prepare and implement age appropriate activities

  • Assist in the planning of field trips

  • Effective and professional communication with staff and parents

  • Work closely with staff members in the development and implementation of a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum

 

Requirements:

  • A.A./B.A. degree with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education preferred 2+ years experience

  • Minimum 12 core units of Child Development (courses: Child Development, Child Family Community, Principles and Curriculum) - 24 units are preferred 

  • California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude

  • Nurturing and caring personality

  • Dependability and flexibility to meet needs of school

  • LiveScanCPR certifiedTB tested

Pluses:
